Pottery Classes

 

Basic Pottery with a focus on Drinking/Pouring vessels

Instructor: Maria Dondero

6 week Wednesday evening class: August 11- September 15, 6-8pm

Price per Session: $130 for Members for $140 Members non-members

 

This class will be a refresher course of the basics to throwing, with an emphasis on pouring and drinking vessels.  We will cover creamers, pitchers, teapots, coffee pots, espresso cups, yunomis, tumblers and more.

Advanced Pottery: Plates, Platters and Tiles

Instructor: Maria  Dondero

 

6 week Wednesday evening class: October 13- November 17

Time offered: 6-8 pm

Price per Session: $130 for Members, $140 for non-members

 

Some basic skills in pottery would be good for this class.  We will focus on all types of serving platters and plates: oval, square, round, rectangular.  We will also work with tiles for display or as trivets or coasters.  We will use slab techniques and throwing, with a focus on the surface decoration: using the flatter surfaces as a canvas.
