Dear OCAF Patron,
The Oconee Cultural Arts Foundation (OCAF), Georgia's highly honored volunteer arts organization, has announced the first major capital campaign in its 22 years of existence, with a goal of $1.8 million.
The money will be used to repair and upgrade OCAF's three facilities, providing much-needed structural and safety improvements, including roofing, flooring, and HVAC and electrical concerns. With these improvements, we will have the ability to greatly expand programs by adding classes and studio workspace, as well as providing additional exhibits.
OCAF was founded for the dual purpose of art instruction and the public exhibition/sales of practicing artists. As a result, OCAF has become a renowned southern art center with such programs as Perspectives, Southworks and Holiday Market, all part of many yearly attractions featuring some of the most accomplished artists in the region and nation.
In addition to visual arts, OCAF offers programs in literary expression and performance, both gaining importance in OCAF's expanding purpose of supporting art in all mediums.
Each year over 20,000 visitors from throughout the southeast enjoy OCAF exhibits and educational offerings. Impact on the Athens area community is estimated to be $2 million annually.
Would you join us in this campaign? Your tax-deductible gift will be an investment that will be prudently used, not only for immediate needs, but to insure a thriving future for the 20-plus-year service OCAF has gladly offered to all who accept art as nourishment of the spirit.
Thank you for your support.
